Back to School: Protecting Your Kids and Family from COVID-19

We were all hoping that by the time we sent our kids back to school this year, we wouldn’t have to worry so much about infection rates. Unfortunately, we do not appear to be in that situation. Dr. Rachel Orscheln, a pediatric disease specialist and part of the pandemic task force at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, goes through the proper precautions to take to protect your kids and the rest of your family from COVID-19 as they go back to school. Of course, if able, the best way to mitigate disease and disease spread is to get the vaccine.

Vaccines and boosters for all eligible ages are available through several BJC HealthCare locations, other members of the Pandemic Task Force, or retail pharmacies and vaccine sites across the region. Some pediatrician or primary care offices may also offer the COVID-19 vaccine to their patients, so check with your doctor as well!
